WSU faculty who are involved with the development, implementation, or use of undergraduate program student learning outcomes assessment are welcome to apply for ATL’s new assessment mini-grants. Up to six mini-grants will be awarded for up to $500 each.

All of WSU’s undergraduate degree programs submitted their 2014 annual assessment reports in June. ATL appreciates the efforts by assessment coordinators, faculty and leadership to submit the annual reports. Program assessment and reporting provide much-needed information to colleges, campuses and WSU as a whole, and contributes to maintaining the university’s accreditation.
The 2014 WSU Catalog will include student learning outcomes for each degree offered at WSU. In April, the Registrar’s annual Call for Copy went out to WSU departments, with the request that each degree provide current student learning outcomes as part of the department’s information. On March 28th, more than 100 judges (faculty, staff, and outside experts) evaluated the oral and poster presentations of 192 undergraduate students at SURCA, the Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities. Undergraduates from all years, majors, and campuses shared the results of work conducted in partnership with a mentor and competed for awards.
In March, 2014, WSU’s Faculty Senate approved an update to the policy on assessment of student learning in degree programs.
